Becoming a Member

Membership in the Winnipeg Police Credit Union is open to active and retired employees of the Winnipeg Police Service; employees working in other fields of the law enforcement community in Manitoba; and their families, friends, and supporters. When qualifying individuals complete a membership agreement, deposit $5 to their “share account” and have their membership approved by the credit union's Board of Directors, they become a member of the credit union and are entitled to the benefits we offer.

Winnipeg Police Credit Union directly financially supports the Law Enforcement Community to give back to the community that supports us, and aligns with our guiding principals and co-operative spirit.  By doing business with us, you are reaching your financial goals while supporting a vibrant law enforcement community, whose members are generously dedicating their time and talents to enriching the lives of the citizens in our city and province.

As a member you are encouraged to attend the annual general meeting of the Winnipeg Police Credit Union, which is usually held in November each year. The annual meeting is your chance to express your views on the operation and direction of your Credit Union. Members also have the opportunity to run for election to the Board of Directors. Credit unions pride themselves in being the only financial institution that service the needs of their owners/members.

When you entrust your money to a financial institution, you need to know it’s safe. While customers of other institutions are offered limited deposit guarantees, Credit Union members know that ALL of their money is safe! That’s because all deposits are guaranteed without limit by the Deposit Guarantee Corporation of Manitoba.

Build your financial future with the Winnipeg Police Credit Union.
